Mental health is often misunderstood and individuals are currently on large waiting lists waiting to get their needs met. Waiting can often lead to worsening symptoms and cause further issues - this is where REFORM Occupational Therapy can help, we can support individuals in a timely manner.

Mental health conditions may lead to individuals experiencing loss of roles, disengagement from their social circles and absence from work. Additionally, this can impact self esteem and lead to negative thought patterns and behaviors. 

 

Occupational Therapy can provide support when a person is not able to engage in every day life due to health issues. Some areas we provide support with are anxiety and mood management, self esteem development, increasing motivation levels, life skills, money management and support with sensory strategies. 

REFORM Occupational Therapy service provides the following support:

A full functional assessment 

The individuals ability to carry out daily tasks is assessed, this includes the ability to engage in self care, domestic activities, social activities and work related roles . Sometimes mental illness can interfere with participation in these tasks. Recommendations are then put in place to support each individual  to reach their maximum potential. 

Emotional Regulation Coaching Program 

This course will support individuals to regulate their emotions independently and they will be provided with downloadable materials to work through the course. Many proven methods and techniques with be taught and practiced throughout the course and homework will be provided weekly. 

Self Esteem Coaching 

A self esteem program has been developed to support individuals with developing their confidence . This is a 4 week program with tested methods including weekly homework to provide the tool box needed to move forward in life and to achieve personal goals. 

Graded Exposure 

For those who struggle to go out in public due to anxiety, a program has been developed to help you reach your goals.Including taking small measurable steps and with anxiety management techniques this will support individuals to feel confidence with going outside and engaging in meaningful 

Reform Occupational Therapy is a small and friendly independent practice based within Bedfordshire, specialising in mental health and provide holistic assessment and treatment.  

The service is provided by Rosina Doyle a HCPC / COT registered Occupational Therapist with over 15 years experience within various mental health settings.  Rosina has completed training with counselling, DBT and and has experience working with adults who experience mental health issues.
